International Trade Live celebrates first edition

The must-attend virtual event International Trade Live came to a close last Thursday, during its partnering event International Trade Week, which concluded on Friday.

For this year’s International Trade Live we decided to centre the topics around our overarching theme ‘Automation. Digitalisation. Reliability’, Over the two-day period attendees gained a wide range of insight from professionals working in a variety of relevant industries and sectors, from shipping companies to digital infrastructure solution providers.

On the first day of International Trade Live, we opened the day with a keynote session from Lord Dominic Johnson, Minister of State for the Department for Business and Trade. In this interview session, Lord Dominic discussed with us his appreciation for the multiple trade deals that the UK Government has already agreed, as well as his hopes and expectations for further progression in business, trade, and investment. This session was then followed by The Head of Trade Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce, William Bain and Samantha Brocklehurst, Customer Experience Manager for Maersk UK & Ireland. The sessions then continued long into the late afternoon, with content topics that were all highly relevant to our overall theme.

Day two began with another keynote session, this time with the CEO of the Trade Finance Distribution Initiative, Andre Casterman, who detailed the important role of trade finance platforms like Tradeteq, of which Andre is a Board Member. The day was then equally as busy and informative as the first day, with speaker sessions from Dr. Anna Jerzewska, Founder of Trade and Borders; Mauro Cozzi, Co-Founder and CEO of Emitwise; Luc Terrral, CEO of Greensee; and more. We concluded the last day with an outlook of what to expect in the world of shipping in 2024 from expert Peter Sand, Chief Analyst at Xeneta.

We’d like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all of our supporters and collaborators at this year’s International Trade Live. A special thanks to our partners the Department for Business and Trade and The Trade Finance Distribution Initiative (TFDi).

“It is with great satisfaction that we can formally announce that International Trade Live has been a resounding success.” Said Jon Pittock, Publisher at Hand Media International. “Our commitment to creating an event that was full of thought leadership and covering a wide range of relevant topics was paramount to the event’s success. Our decision to strategically schedule International Trade Live with International Trade Week, in collaboration with our event partner the Department for Business and Trade, also contributed greatly to ensuring that we provided our audience with the maximum level of opportunities.

“The feedback we have already received from our visitors, speakers and sponsors has been overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming the pivotal role of International Trade Magazine and International Trade Live in providing essential information and expert advice to businesses both within the United Kingdom and globally. Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success and we look forward to seeing you all at International Trade Live 2024!”
